Alumina (Al2O3) content of 15~30% aluminum silicate refractory products. Generally, fireclay containing quartz sand, pyrophyllite (Al2O3·4SiO2·H2O), fireclay or kaolin mineral tailings are used as raw materials. The shrinkage of the semi-silicon brick during the firing process is small, because at 1250 ° C, the quartz in the raw material is converted into square quartz, and the volume expands, partially offsetting the shrinkage generated by the sintering of clay.
The manufacturing process of semi-silicon brick can be divided into two kinds: fired or not fired. The manufacturing process of fired brick is basically the same as that of clay brick. Non-fired bricks are made of water glass as bonding agent
The Character:
The semi-silicon brick has a small expansion property, which is conducive to improving the integrity of masonry and weakening the erosion effect of slag on masonry. Another feature of it is that when the high-temperature slag is in contact with the surface of the brick, a layer of sleeve material with great viscosity is produced on the surface of the brick (the molten material with a high Si02 content formed by the action of the slag and the product, the thickness is 1 ~ 2mm), which blocks the porosity, prevents the slag from continuing to penetrate into the brick, forming a protective layer, thus improving the corrosion resistance of the brick.
The raw material storage of semi-silicon brick is large, the price is low, and it can replace the second and third grade clay brick, and the use range is wide. Because the semi-silicon brick has good resistance to acid slag, and has higher high-temperature structural strength and relatively stable volume.
